Bereavement Program

Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk's Programs provide services to the hospice family for up to 13 months following admission. There are also non hospice bereavement services for the community. Scope of Services; Hospice families, non-hospice families, community agencies to include: schools, mental health agencies , religious organizations, private physicians and mental health professionals. • Bereavement calls, volunteer calls, bereavement visits conducted by bereavement staff
• Grief education seminars & annual sponsor of HFA teleconferences
• Grief library- books, pamphlets & mailings provides
• Referral to community practitioners & agencies
• Consultation services
