WITH ONE BRUSH STROKE Artists Unite to help Hospice House

The Mastic Beach Property Owners Association will be presenting the charity event, "With One Brush Stroke" on Sunday, April 10th from 2– 6PM. The organizers of this event are multi-award winning local watercolor artist, Lorrainne Rimmelin and her husband, Bruce Summa.

"Our intention is to create an art event that will showcase our local beauty, bring culture to the peninsula, and raise money for Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk (VNSHS).  We are looking for a way to give back and raise money for this worthy cause," said Summa.

Bob DeBona, President of the Mastic Beach Property Owners Association said, "The Hospice House recently took care of one of our late Directors, Julie DeCarlo, and Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk cares for many of our members on a daily basis. When Bruce came to the Board with this idea, we all knew it was a no-brainer to sponsor this event. The MBPOA gets behind our members who are looking to promote goodwill, and come to us with a well thought-out plan. We think this will be a great event for Mastic Beach."

Rimmelin added, "With the recession, and so many government cutbacks, we really need to support the places that truly treat people with dignity, Hospice House is one of those places that matter."

With One Brush Stroke will feature ten successful artists who will be displaying and selling their art. Each artist will be donating a piece to be auctioned off throughout the day with the proceeds going to VNSHS’ Hospice House.  Organizer Lorraine Rimmelin will be raffling her beautifully framed 15” x 30” watercolor painting titled, "Mastic Morning" which was inspired by Long Island's local beauty.

A five-dollar donation—which will also be going to Hospice House— will be required for entry to the event and will be collected at the door. Wine, cheese, fruits and other light refreshments will be provided complimentary, to round out what is anticipated to be a most pleasurable afternoon.

Mark April 10th on your calendar and plan on an afternoon of art and fun for a great cause.  With One Brush Stroke will be held at the Mastic Beach Property Owners Association located at 31 Neighborhood Road (corner of Neighborhood and Orchid Drive) in Mastic Beach, N.Y.
